Participants must register by May 3, 2023 to receive their shirt, tote bag, runner's bib and commemorative run medal by the run day.
What is the inspiration behind the run?
On June 12, 2016, 49 angels sought the joy, love, and acceptance of Pulse Nightclub. Instead, they found hatred. And they never came home. They were gay. They were straight. Latin, black, white. Mothers. Fathers. Brothers. Sisters. Daughters. Sons. Lost forever.
In the aftermath of the largest and deadliest act of violence affecting LGBTQ people and the deadliest terrorist attack by a single gunman in modern American history, our community came together to prove that love will overcome fear and hatred.
Please join us on Saturday, June 3, 2023, as we celebrate the “UNITY, Love, Hope, Courage, Strength, and Acceptance” that brought Orlando and the world together during the healing process following the Pulse nightclub tragedy of June 12, 2016.
Do I need to be a trained runner to participate?
No! The CommUNITY Rainbow Run is offered to all those who would like to take part in our 4.9K. There is also the option of walking distance as well.
Is the run timed?
The CommUNITY Rainbow Run is not a timed event. The purpose is to celebrate life while honoring the lives that were lost in the Pulse Nightclub shooting, therefore we encourage participants to run or walk at whatever pace they would like.
What is included in my registration?
All participants will receive an official run t-shirt, tote bag, numbered run bib, and finisher medal.
What is the price for each runner package?
The in-person 4.9K CommUNITY Rainbow Run registration is $49. The Virtual Run registration is $49 plus shipping and the Kids Fun Run is $5. Participants must register by May 12, 2023 to receive their shirt, tote bag and run medal by the day of the event.
Will my packet ship if I miss the packet pick-up?
Packet pickup information will be released closer to race day. If you do not pick up your in-person pre-run registration packet and have not paid for shipping, your packet will not be mailed.
Can children participate?
The event also includes a Kids Fun Run. Registration is $5.
Are strollers allowed?
The CommUNITY Rainbow Run is a family friendly event and we encourage everyone to participate. Some may choose to participate in the run with their children in a stroller. Additional safety information can be found here. https://www.verywellfit.com/tips-for-running-with-jogging-strollers-2911387
